after-school program
The after-school program at Capital City Public Charter School was created to provide programming for girls that would allow them to engage in a safe space with other students and educators. Within this space we were able to build community among students and teachers, facilitate the screening and follow-up discussion of the film “Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools” for teachers at the school, and offer programming to build the self-esteem and academics of our students.
